LightSpeed laser: all the innovative features

The Job manager (engraving and cutting Job manager) on LightSpeed machines allows multiple engraving files to be stored in an organized and editable queue directly on the screen. Several engraving files can be sent to the machine and each job can be previewed, re-parameterized (power, speed, number of passes...) and reordered according to your production priorities.

Two usage modes are available:

• Automatic sequencing: each file is ready to be launched with a simple press on “Start”.
• Library mode: to manually select a file from the list and execute it.

A history keeps the last executed files, and favorites allow you to keep your most frequent files in memory, independently of the history. You can thus relaunch a favorite at any time or add it to the queue for scheduled execution.

With the Job manager, you gain productivity, flexibility and autonomy, without having to go back to the design software on the computer for each engraving.

The air extraction system of LightSpeed machines is based on an optimized flow design, with a laminar air blade that suppresses turbulence and air vortices. This perfectly directed flow enables fast and uniform evacuation of fumes and particles from the work surface.

Engraving and cutting quality is improved, with no deposits on the surface, and the machine stays clean longer. Less residue also means less maintenance and better longevity of optical and mechanical components.

At the end of engraving or cutting, extraction remains active for a few seconds to evacuate all residual fumes from the machine. Opening the door is risk-free; the operator is never exposed to irritating dust or particles. 

With the Dust protect system, LightSpeed machines are designed to operate durably even on production applications generating dust such as cutting wooden objects or engraving stamps. All sensitive areas such as electronics, optical components, the laser source or the axes are protected by dedicated covers and shutters that prevent dust infiltration.

This targeted isolation significantly reduces dust deposits, which facilitates maintenance and cleaning while extending the lifetime of mechanical and optical components. 

Designed with a welded steel chassis, LightSpeed machines offer superior structural rigidity. This reinforced architecture guarantees retention of mechanical settings, even with intensive use or in a demanding environment.

The rigid structure ensures a more stable, more precise machine and greater resistance to transport, temperature variations and ageing.

Engraving and cutting performances are therefore consistent and the reliability of mechanical components is preserved. 

Developed by Gravotech, the new electronic board equips LightSpeed machines and sets a new standard of performance. Equipped with a high-speed processor, low-power LPDDR4 memory and 8 GB of eMMC storage, it allows up to 50 jobs to be stored in memory.

It provides enhanced processing speed for faster engraving and the ability to modify a job’s parameters without interrupting it. GPU acceleration ensures smooth management of the G-Screen touchscreen.

Compatible with all modern connectivity options (USB, Ethernet, Wi-Fi), it also optimizes maintenance through event log recording. Reliable, durable and powerful, it equips all next-generation Gravotech machines.

Each laser source integrated into LightSpeed machines is individually measured and adjusted at the factory with watt-level precision. This approach guarantees that the power delivered on the engraving table corresponds exactly to the declared value, without approximation.

This level of control ensures perfect consistency from one machine to another, essential for multi-site users or industrial environments requiring consistent results across multiple pieces of equipment.

You are assured of reproducible quality, reliable settings and consistent performance from the first use. 

In vector engraving, a laser machine fires a succession of closely spaced points to form a continuous path. On most competing laser machines, these pulses are emitted at a fixed frequency: point density then varies with speed, resulting in lighter lines on straight sections and more pronounced lines in curves.

LightSpeed’s constant vector resolution dynamically adapts the firing frequency to maintain constant spacing between each point, regardless of travel speed. It permits a uniform, consistent engraving across the entire path.

Frequency control remains available on the LightSpeed range and is recommended for cutting.

Automatic air assist on LightSpeed machines can be activated manually from the machine interface during engraving and cutting. It can also be programmed directly from Gravostyle™ and adapts to your needs in real time.

It is possible to control air flow rate as a percentage from the laser parameters. Each type of path (outlines, fills, cuts) can therefore benefit from a specific flow rate, also adjustable during engraving via the machine interface.

LightSpeed machines are equipped with a laser nozzle, optimizing airflow direction to :

• Improve the extraction of fumes and dust during cutting,
• Protect the lens to extend its lifetime and reduce cleaning needs by maintaining protective overpressure in the nozzle.
• Prevent flames by blowing away gases and particles produced during cutting.

Note: air assist requires a compressor (in option) or connection to an air system. 

The LightSpeed range integrates an HD touchscreen up to 10 inches, tiltable and swivel-mounted, offering full control of the machine. Its wide viewing angle ensures optimal readability, whether you are in front of the screen or in front of the engraving area to handle parts. Its anti-glare treatment guarantees perfect visibility.  

Store and manage up to 50 engraving files directly from the screen. You can preview your files without engraving them and change their settings in real time. The job history and favorites allow you to keep a file to relaunch it without going back to the computer.  

With LightSpeed, your screen becomes a true control center, combining ergonomics and performance.

The autofocus on LightSpeed machines ensures precise, automatic focus adjustment with no manual intervention. Thanks to its probe integrated into the laser head, it automatically adjusts beam focal distance according to material thickness, ensuring optimal engraving and cutting with each use.

This system eliminates focus errors and improves engraving quality. Unlike machines with manual adjustment, this feature saves significant time, making each operation smoother and more efficient.

Autofocus is an essential solution to guarantee perfect, repeatable engraving with your LightSpeed machine. 

With Click Lens lenses, LightSpeed machines benefit from magnetic lens changes with no screws and no tools. Each lens self-positions correctly, reducing any risk of assembly error or misalignment, and making cleaning more accessible.

Click Lens lenses are supplied in a clearly identified holder, indicating focal length, laser compatibility (CO2 or Fiber) and a color ring for immediate visual recognition of focal length.

Available from 1.5 to 4 inches, Click Lens lenses allow you to adjust your machine with no time loss or compromise on precision. Whether you switch from fine engraving to thick cutting, focal length changes become smooth and intuitive.

Positioned near the screen, the Joystick integrated into LightSpeed machines provides smooth and precise manual control of the X, Y, Z axes, as well as the rotary device when it is used.

Its intuitive handling lets you move the laser head without taking your eyes off the work area: ideal for refining a Point & Shoot positioning, defining an origin or adjusting height without error.

Thanks to progressive speed control, the Joystick combines precision and quick motion, including on two axes simultaneously. An essential tool to gain efficiency and comfort from the very first use.

Point & Shoot, available on the entire LightSpeed range, ensures precise, effortless engraving. Unlike conventional red pointers limited to simply moving the origin in X and Y, our system lets you physically define an engraving area directly on the work surface.

Using the Point & Shoot red pointer, select two points to create a rectangular area, or several points to draw a curved area adapted to complex shapes. This function simplifies file alignment and perfectly suits objects of all sizes, even irregular ones.

Once the area is defined, it is automatically transferred into our Gravostyle™ software, allowing you to position your design precisely with no loss of time. This smooth communication between the machine and the software minimizes errors and optimizes your productivity.

The Quick Switch table system in the LightSpeed range allows you to adapt your machine to each application in just a few seconds. Thanks to its magnetic mounting system, tables install effortlessly with consistently perfect positioning.

Choose the ideal table to suit your needs :

• Solid aluminum table (supplied with the machine) : stable surface for standard engraving.
• Ferromagnetic steel table: precise workholding using magnets.
• Versatile cutting table: square grid for better evacuation of dust and fumes.
• Pin cutting table: limits contact for clean cutting, especially on acrylic.
• Blade cutting table: frame with removable blades for more flexibility in holding materials during cutting.

The measuring rulers integrated into the machine set the origin point independently of the table, ensuring precise and repeatable positioning with no risk of error. Table thickness is identical, which eliminates any focal height adjustment.

Cutting tables are pass-through, optimizing airflow and fume extraction.  

With the Quick Switch table system, maximize your productivity while maintaining constant precision. 

The Class 4 configuration allows the machine to be used with the door open to meet occasional engraving needs on objects larger than the standard working area. The object can therefore extend at the front or the rear of the machine without constraint, while maintaining the usual marking precision and quality.

This mode is intended for users trained in operating Class 4 lasers. It requires strict compliance with safety instructions, including wearing protective eyewear adapted to the type of laser used, and knowledge of specific safety rules.

The Print & Cut function on LightSpeed machines ensures ultra-precise positioning of laser cuts on your printed media.

After printing your visuals, use the Gravostyle™ software to read the alignment marks and adjust cutting or engraving with perfect accuracy, even if the media is offset.

Ideal for signage, labels, packaging or decorative objects, this technology guarantees smooth, error-free production, whether in series or as a single item.

Easy to use, this function is integrated directly into Gravostyle™ and eliminates tedious manual repositioning.

LightSpeed machines are equipped with dual optimized access doors, designed to facilitate loading, table changing and full use of the working volume.

The upper L-shaped door fully clears access to the engraving area, allowing bulky parts or multiple objects to be handled with great freedom of movement.

The lower door improves direct access to the table, simplifying its change with the "Quick Switch" table system and the positioning of tall parts.

Once the door is closed, the large glazed surfaces at the front and on the top provide wide visibility of the working area, unique on the market.

Thanks to a series of mechanical and electronic optimizations, LightSpeed machines maintain a noise level below 50 dB outside engraving phases, comparable to a refrigerator in operation.

Fans activate only when cooling is required, particularly during engraving or cutting cycles. This intelligent management significantly reduces noise at idle while preserving component longevity.

The air compressor for the air assist system is also optimized. Ultra-quiet, it operates without disturbing the user’s sound environment and goes unnoticed whether active or not.

A fume extractor is essential: it ensures proper evacuation of fumes and particles generated by the laser/material reaction. It keeps the machine clean and in good working condition, but also protects the operator from potentially harmful chemical compounds.

Installing your LightSpeed 300 machine and its extractor becomes simple and fast. The wheeled extractor acts as a mobile support for the machine: simply place the machine on it and the connection is made in the same movement, with no manual connection and no visible hose.

Extraction is done from underneath the machine, avoiding any visible hose at the rear and freeing up additional space. The whole forms a compact unit, easy to move without disassembly.

LightSpeed machines have been designed with a controlled footprint; they easily pass through most standard 800 mm doorways without disassembly.

This approach reduces delivery constraints, facilitates installation in confined spaces (schools, offices, workshops) and speeds up commissioning, while limiting handling-related risks.

LightSpeed machines incorporate a metal protective blade (shutter) that automatically blocks the laser beam at the laser source output as soon as the door is opened or at the end of an engraving.

Unlike systems relying only on electronics or software, this physical protection acts as a redundant safety mechanism. In case of failure, the blade mechanically tilts to block the laser beam, eliminating any risk of accidental exposure.

This level of safety, exclusive to Gravotech, positions LightSpeed machines among the safest machines on the market. A concrete response to the requirements of environments where operator safety is non-negotiable.

The safety key on LightSpeed machines relies on a physical locking system that fully disables the machine when it is removed. It prevents any unauthorized use in the absence of a supervisor or a trained operator.
